If you are consistently unable to make the repayments on your secured loan, and you do not get in contact with you lender to discuss other options, they may repossess your vehicle in a bid to recoup some of the funds you still owe.

Unsecured personal loans are loans that do not require the borrower to attach an asset as security. In general, these are loans of a smaller amount, as they pose more of a risk to the lender if the borrower defaults.

Secured personal loans are simply loans that do require an asset to be attached as security. Attaching security to a loan greatly reduces the risk posed to the lender. Because of this, lenders are generally willing to lend more in a secured loan.
